50 Facts About Me

Bonjour mes chers,

I decided to spruce my blog up a bit and share 50 Facts About Me (old school, I know)!

Here we go!

1. I am 5'3"ish
2. My favorite food is mashed potatoes. I could eat them all day everyday.
3. I have this weird obsession with Europe *awkward shrug*
4. 'My children' (the kids I babysit) are my best friends in the whole world, and they make me so happy to be a part of their lives.
5. I have a horrible obsession with Dan Smith from Bastille...if you don't know the band or him...leave. We are no longer friends.

*sigh...swoon*.....Judge me.
6. I have my whole life planned out, and I get genuinely upset when things don't go as planned.
7. I have a total of 5 big birthmarks, and they all align on the left side of my body. One under my left eye (no I do not have a black eye *eye roll*), one on my neck (yes, it is indeed a heart), one under my left breast (awkward.), one on my left hip/lower back, and the final one is on my left calf.
8. I was born with bright blonde hair and bright blue eyes, but as I have grown, my hair has become brownish blonde, and my eyes are hazel (they actually change from bright blue to dark green daily).
9. I plan to study abroad in Angers, France next year second semester.

10. My favorite TV show is, hands down, Whose Line Is It Anyways. Whoever took this off the air needs to rethink their life choices. -_-

If you don't know/remember this show then...get out...just kidding...Kinda
Here's a URL of a clip:
11. My favorite Disney classic movies are: Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Lady and the Tramp, Aladdin, and The Fox and the Hound.
That seems like a lot, but....JUDGE ME.
12. My favorite bands are Bastille (obviously), The Temper Trap, and Lana Del Rey (Although, she isn't really a 'band' per-say.)
13. I hate marshmallows, whipped cream, and all other super fluffy/gooey foods (minus mousse au chocolat of course ;).)
14. My favorite animal is a moose...they are just so under loved.
15. Some songs I shall never tire of are: Footloose by Kenny Loggins, Still Rock and Roll to Me by Billy Joel, I'm on Fire by Bruce Springsteen, and Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon.
16. I have another odd obsession...with running...I like to run...a lot.
17. I detest the cold with a fire burning passion.
18. My favorite vacation so far has been Hawaii. We went Christmas break of 2009, and it was the BEST vacation ever.

19. If I could bring one person back, I would choose my grandma because she was my best friend, and I think I could use her advice.
(This was the last picture we took before she died. It was at Disney World.)

20. I believe in happily ever afters and forever, but I am weary of trying for it.
21. I sleep walk and sleep talk...#sorrynotsorry (except you Brittney...that was awkward)
22. I used to have a hamster named Charles, Chaz for short, and I named him after my grandpa, who died on my second birthday. He was a teddy bear hamster and died on the morning of my first day in 6th grade...ehh middle school.
He looked like this, except he was twice the size because I fed him...a lot. He was actually so fat that he couldn't fit in his little climby tube thing.
23. I have owned two German Shepards so far. My first one was named Bear, and my parents lied to me and said he was at the vet because it was my birthday. After all my friends left, they walked me out to my dad's pick up, and voila, there was my dead dog....ouch. So, they bought me Taz; he was the fattest puppy, and I chose him...of course.
To be honest, he consumes my whole life. I don't know what I will do when he's gone... (He's already 12 years old :'( )
24. I hate wearing jeans....leggings or no pants...it's not up for discussion.
25. It could be 100 degrees out, and my feet would still be freezing. (As we speak I am wearing two pairs of socks...one of which are the super cozy non-slip ones from Bath and Body Works <3)
26. I would honestly be completely unhappy at any other university besides the University of Kansas.
It's home for me.
27. This past year has been the worst and the best for me. There were no in-between moments.
28. My parents are moving to Portland, Oregon...meaning this will be the first time in my life that they have not been within a short drive home (2 hours to be exact)...and to be honest, I have no idea how I am going to handle it..so far, I have just not thought about it.
29. I am so thankful to have met some of the most wonderful friends at KU. You know who you are.
30. I love animals. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE....minus spiders...and snakes...and flying insects minus lady bugs....they can all die....
31. Before this year, I had always seen myself as weak, but this year has made me realize how truly strong I am.
32. The past two years, my views on the world and people have changed drastically from what I was raised on.
33. I want to travel the world.
34. Shopping is a bit of an obsession of mine... once again #sorrynotsorry
35. In order for me to be happy while listening to music, the volume must be all the way up.
36. I am allergic to smoke...sooo...stay away.
37. I am extremely loopy and happy when I am tired or just angry and hating everyone...there is NO in-between.
38. I apparently met Emma Watson in Texas, and received an autographed photo of her.
Although I have no recollection of this.
39. If I could do one career oriented thing when I am older, it would be to launch my own clothing line.
40. Deja-vu happens to me...a lot. It actually kind of scares me sometimes.
41. I absolutely despise my thighs.
42. When I was around 5 or 6, I 'accidentally' watched Jaws: The Revenge, and I was too scared to bath or swim by myself until I was about 14 years old...completely irrational.
43. Around the age of 6 or 7, my grandma taught me how to play the piano, and I was quiet good. When she died however, I quit playing and somehow caused my mind to forget how to play up until two or three years ago.
44. In school, I have always been bullied, so my self esteem plummeted in high school and part of middle school. ( I don't know why it didn't plummet when it started though...that would have been around 2nd or 3rd grade.)
45. As a child, I thought I was a princess (either Belle, Pocahontas, or Princess Diana [don't ask me...]), a model, a cheerleader (Dallas Cowboys, of course), or Barbie...so that's what my life revolved around...
46. I dressed myself once when I was three....my pants were not only backward but inside out with a stain on them, and my shirt was the same way. I also put on a hat..backwards of course... and my sneakers were on the wrong feet....I forgot socks all together.
That was the last time Amber dressed herself.
47. I cracked my right wrist...while swinging and trying to change the song on my CD player.
I fell...Ashley, my sister, laughed...I cried...she laughed until mom came out to ask what had happened....
As if THAT wasn't bad enough, as I was sobbing and looking pitiful, I walked over a mini pine tree....
*sigh, eye roll* I needed to get my life together.
48. I have moved 7 going on 8 times. (unless you count the move to college because then it would be 8 going on 9.)
49. I am the biggest book worm you will ever meet.
50. When I was younger, I would trick my younger cousins into eating mud, worms, and bugs... (Sorry Joe, Skyler, and Isaac!), and I could fake cry like no one's business. (Sorry Ashley.) So pretty much I could get anyone in trouble over anything.

And there you go. Now, you know my life story...sorta.

Avoir XOXO

Merry Christmas!!

Hello my jolly dears,

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANUKKAH, AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU MIGHT CELEBRATE <3

So I decided that while I have a little break, I will share how my Christmas Eve went.
My family has always done Christmas activities on the 24th instead of the 25th.
We open our presents under the tree on the 24th, we watch movies on the 24th, and we look at Christmas lights on the 24th. The only thing we don't do on the 24th is open our Christmas stockings from Santa.
Obviously, last night was when we opened our presents, so I am going to share what I received on Christmas!
(Ashley and I are actually getting along?! What is this world coming to??)
(Opening Christmas presents [I am wearing one of my presents])
This perfume smells so good. It is unreal. I also really love the packaging!

I have been dying to get these! Mom made the smart choice of buying my kids boots.

I had a pair similar and in a lighter shade of grey, but the old ones were a knock off brand. They were starting to fall apart too, so I am extremely happy about these!

I love Marshalls and monograms, so this present obviously fits me to a T.

These are the second pair of pjs I received. (The other pair is the one I mentioned previously.) The pants are super soft and cozy.
I have a thing for grey shoes, since they go with everything. These are grey and have sparkles. I am swooning.

I am actually really excited to wear the scarf and hat. This year, I have really acquired a taste for beanie hats, so I'm excited to wear these.

I am already fangirling over the black shirt...its bad. The dress seems slightly big, but I haven't tried it on.

My mom really loves me.

Okay, this is probably my favorite gift right now. I LOVE Soap&Glory products, so when I saw that I got a body scrub that smells like margaritas and two face scrubs. The milkshake product is bath fizzies and a scrubby, and the fizzies smell like coconut vanilla cream. It. Is. To. Die. For. The two containers in the front are lip products; the right one is a lip scrub, and the left one is a lip balm. The colorful circular things are body washes. This morning, I used the big face scrub, a fizzy, the body scrub, and the lip scrub. They were PERFECTION.

Christmas is Around the Corner!

Hello lovelies,

I am finally home for a whole month, and two days into my vacation, it starts blizzarding out side. I has snowed a total of 12 inches as of today at 10 am.
(This was yesterday around 10 am. We had to clear our driveway of 11.5 inches of snow)
Sorry this is such a short post, but nothing really exciting has happened.
It has been a rough start of a break, but I am hoping it will get better soon.

Avoir,

 mon amis

Sorry!

Hello friends!
First, I want to apologize for not posting in...a month? Oops!
School has been consuming my life, but I do have some awesome moments to share and such!
Soooo...let's get started!

First things first, MY PARENTS ARE MOVING TO PORTLAND, OREGON!
While yes, I am terrified of them being so far away, I could not be more happy or more proud for and of both of them.

Second, IT'S FINALS WEEK...the stress is real...
Luckily, I only have two more finals on Wednesday, and then, I will be driving home to see my fam.
After Christmas, we will be flying to Portland to look at houses and such.
I am dying of excitement, which is shocking really.
Since I am terrified of planes, and I'm slightly scared of going somewhere I have never been. I never imagined I'd be this excited to go.

Third, I have officially started the process of obtaining my passport, so I can go abroad to Angers, France in Spring 2015 for a whole semester.
I'M SO EXCITED!
On top of my trip to Oregon, I am going to be traveling to Chicago to obtain my French visa, although I am unsure of the dates for this.

Fourth, I can officially say I have touched Aaron Carter...and it was beautiful.

While home over Thanksgiving Break, my babies had their first birthday:
(The tired birthday boy and moi...keep in mind he was dead tired and had just shoved his face full of cake)

(And again)

(This time a picture with the birthday girl)
 ;)

(My baby boy is so big *crying*)

Upon arriving back to campus, everyone was hit with loads of homework and tests (This boys and girls is not the fun part of college)
Rajvi and I decided to take a break from studying and homework to participate in casino night in Templin Hall.
We also realized that we are very good at blackjack (at least when it's not our money/fake money).

Also, I went to a private screening of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with Sophie, and I got a whole bunch of freebies.

College, while wonderful and enlightening, is one word: exhausting.
I have been taking naps which, if you know me, is not normal.
Well on Thursday, I will be heading home to spend a month with my family and then, back to school I go.
I promise to keep my blog more updated while I'm on vacation!!
Avoir mes amis et bonne chance.
